If you have had a baby recently and want to restart exercise, Postnatal Yoga can help you to get back to shape in a safe and healthy way. All sessions last 55 minutes, working with English speaking physiotherapist Maria Moreno who specialises in Women’s Health and who will guide you to perform each exercise step by step.
You can restart exercise 6 to 8 weeks after birth (always with the consent of your doctor) and it is important that your abdominal wall (linea alba) and pelvic floor muscles get properly assessed before restarting any type of exercise. If your midwife or doctor does not check these for you, Maxifisio recommends to do an initial consultation with us to have these assessed and find out if you have a diastasis recti (separation of the rectus abdominis muscle, and if present, how severe it is) and if you have any pelvic floor issues (such as genital prolapse or urinary incontinence). During the initial consultation we will also introduce you to Postnatal Yoga and we will provide you with an exercise program to follow at home.
Maxifisio’s Postnatal Yoga sessions are adapted to the postnatal period, having a special focus on pelvic floor activation and diastasis recti rehabilitation. Postnatal Yoga can help you to improve your sleep quality, reduce stress and anxiety levels, correct your posture, improve your respiratory capacity and strengthen the pelvic floor, among other benefits.
Maxifisio offers Postnatal Yoga sessions in studio (one-to-one) in the El Viso area of Madrid.
We also offer our Postnatal Yoga one-to-one sessions online. For more information on our online sessions please contact us.
