If you want to practice Yoga, relax your mind and body and improve your balance please do not hesitate to book a session with Maxifisio. All sessions last 55 minutes, working with English speaking physiotherapist Maria Moreno who will guide you and explain how to perform each posture (or asana) step by step.

Maxifisio offers Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Flow Yoga and Prenatal Yoga sessions in studio (one-to-ones and duets) and group classes in the El Viso area of Madrid. If you are interested in a group class please check our class timetable.

What is Yoga?

Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual discipline which originated in ancient India. The word Yoga means “Union” and there is a broad variety of different Yoga schools and practices. Maxifisio specialises in Hatha, Vinyasa Flow and Prenatal Yoga.

The practice of Yoga involves physical exercise (working in different postures or asanas) while focusing on breath control and mental awareness at the same time. It is also considered a spiritual practice, as it brings union between the human being and the Divine.

Hatha and Vinyasa Flow Yoga incorporate many of the same poses. The main difference is the pacing of the classes. Vinyasa Flow moves at a faster pace and requires greater breathing control than Hatha. Hatha is done more slowly and poses are held for longer allowing deeper stretching. Maxifisio’s Prenatal Yoga class is Hatha based, adapting the class to the prenatal period and avoiding poses that are contraindicated during pregnancy.
